Cambridge Photon Technology (CPT) has been chosen as one of a select group of energy technology companies to receive grants from the Energy Entrepreneurs Fund (EEF). Administered by the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, the EEF backs “the development and demonstration of disruptive technologies” that have the potential to change the energy industry while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

CPT’s winning project, Reducing Emissions of Carbon by Increasing Photovoltaic Efficiency (RECIPE), will develop a new path for bringing the company’s photon multiplier technology to market, aligning closely with the requirements of the company’s customers in the solar photovoltaic supply chain and speeding the commercial introduction of this important product. The grant further validates and supports CPT’s approach to improving the performance of solar PV with simple yet radical material innovations that will substantially improve performance and lower the cost of clean power.
